Job duties and
Responsibilities:
Teach gymnastics classes to children of various ages (2-10 years old) and ability levels, and communicate and interact with children while still providing education and a fun learning environment; Determine gymnastics class goals and objectives, develop classroom curriculum and training programs to be implemented at all locations; Plan and organize competitions and gymnastic events for all locations; Choose music that is appropriate for each exercise class, choreograph an exercise sequence, and create a routine or a set of moves for a class to follow; Lead group exercise sessions, which include combination of rhythmic gymnastics and aerobic exercises, strength training and coordination exercise, basic yoga stretching and breathing techniques, and pre-choreographed routines; Demonstrate how to carry out various exercises and routine, and watch children do exercises and show or tell them correct techniques to minimize injury and improve fitness; Observe children to determine limitations, abilities, and other individual characteristics and help them develop a sense of accomplishment and self-awareness of their athletic abilities; Monitor children progress and adapt programs as needed to ensure that they satisfy course standards, training requirements, and objectives; Explain and enforce safety rules and the use of exercise equipment, and give emergency first aid if needed; Work with children and their parents to teach the fundamentals of gymnastics while following all safety procedures and protocols as developed by the gym; Manage all paperwork including accident reports, schedule, competition applications or consent forms for participation.
Required experience/education: at least 6 months of proven relevant experience coaching children ages 2-10, including teaching rhythmic gymnastics and aerobics, strength and coordination exercises, basic yoga stretching and breathing techniques, and pre-choreographed routines. Bachelor's in Physical Education, Physical Training, or related.
Knowledge/skills required:
Demonstrated knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects; Expertise in gymnastics and profound ability to provide training to learners belonging to different age groups; Profound knowledge of proper gymnastics form and techniques for each age and stage of physical development; Proven ability to demonstrate gymnastics fundamentals and techniques to children ages 2-10; Strong program lesson planning and instructional skills; Ability to relate well to children and their parents.
